Busy D
It was a busy weekend for us this one, Clacton car show on Sunday and then the AMD tuning meet in Thurrock on bank holiday Monday.
The Clacton show was actually a really good event, the area they had set out for the show cars was full with a wide array of vehicles, mainly classics which was lovely to see, D once again gained a lot of interest and attention and we told our story to many people who were willing to listen, a true family event with some side attractions too.
One of our sponsors, DOUBLECLUTCH UK was in attendance too, trading on their stand, we had a good catch-up with the crew which was nice.
Video of the day can be found on our YouTube.
Bank holiday Monday saw us heading down to Thurrock for a cars and coffee meet at AMD tuning, we only found out about this last Sunday when we showed our face at a small Essex Ford Meet gathering at North Weald airfield.
As we had nothing planned for that day we thought “why not?”. We arrived a little bit early and were ushered straight to the front and parked up, D was quite dirty so a mad 15-minute cleaning session took place.
The place soon filled up and cars had to park on the road, a really popular meet and only their second one so far, glad we got there early. We had a brief chat with the organiser Dean, a lovely guy who listened to our story, and he also owns an amazing-looking bubble arched mk1 Escort.
Again D seemed to attract some attention and we told its story many times over to whoever would listen to us, Two cars that really stood out for us were a Honda powered turbo’d mk1 Cortina, absolutely mint condition and a real sleeper, amazing build.
The other was a wide-arched Subaru, which looked mental and had an awesome exhaust set up, both these cars can be seen on our YouTube video.
Now… they had some awards of the show, best overall car, a best old school car and best new school car, the cortina won best old school, the Subaru won best overall, and… amazingly our Project D won best new school car!
We were asked by Dean to say a few words about our story on the mic, so there I was for about a minute and a half telling over 200 people about our project build, we can’t thank Dean and the Auto Perfection guys enough for what they did and supplying the cleaning products as prizes, a lovely day out with a nice surprise.
This coming weekend appears to be another busy one for us as on Saturday we are hoping to attend the RADwood show at Bicester Heritage as part of the Hotwheels legend tour, and on Sunday we should be at the DOUBLECLUTCH UK pit stop meet at the Suffolk aviation center. Hopefully, with more videos incoming from these events.
